Trying out a new skin I’ve been converting. Things may look a tad wonky till I get everything figured out.

I’ve been hacking away at the template and it’s approaching something I like. The header will get a picture sometime soon, but in the meantime what do you think?

Finally got around to upgrading to the latest version of b2evo, so things might look a little funny around here for a bit. I’m digging some of the new features, though, so you might also start to see some new stuff.

From time to time I like to look at the search strings that bring people here. Seems that the majority of the hits I’ve been getting over the past week are for “Lyra’s hat” or some variation thereof. I’m curious, visitors: which hat are you looking for? She wore several different ones. The one I was looking at was the green and white pointy one. I’m fairly certain I know how it’s done, but I definitely don’t have any yarn that bulky in my stash so I’d have to buy some before I can try it out. Once I do I’ll post my pattern.

After seeing comments come in out of order and other little things acting weird, I figured it was time for an upgrade. Inevitably that means I have to redo all of the changes I make to the look of the site. It should be looking better within the next few days, and I think I may even redesign it.

The site now has a new home with Site5. The blog should be completely moved over at this point, and the gallery should be up later today or tomorrow.

The server has successfully made the trip to New Hampshire, so we’re back online.

The site will be down for a few days this week for a server move. Emails should go to sushi at atlantabemani dot org in the iterim.

On another note, my birthday is on Wednesday. I’m taking tomorrow and Wednesday off to chill.

Just a friendly reminder: you DON’T need to fill in the email field to leave a comment. This is why b2evo is awesome, because I can allow anonymous posts and I STILL haven’t gotten a single piece of comment spam since I started using it. Of course I take precautions like closing comments on older entries, but that’s not as extreme as instituting a registration system for comments.

After leaving them alone for a while, I’ve gone back to hacking on some site skins. I recently added the crystal glass skin. So far I’ve done only minor tweaks there. I’m still having that strange formatting issue with the Zen skin, and I’ve removed some of the other skins that I never got around to before. I’ll probably be trying some new things out on the “custom” skin, which is the current default for the site, and possibly adding more skins if I find others I like.

Does anyone actually use skins for the site? If so, let me know what you think, and what you might like to see. I might add a text-only skin for people who like a no-frills approach (and also any Lynx users).
