As you can see, I absolutely LOVED Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Of the movies I’ve seen this year it’s probably my favorite, and I much preferred it to the 1971 version (no offense to Gene Wilder, I just felt that Johnny Depp resembled the creepy Wonka in the book much closer). Of the three people I have talked to thus far I am in the great minority, as they all despised it. If you have a great attachment to the original I would suggest you skip this one (as that seems to be the one factor the haters had in common.) If not, get thee to a theater this instant.
