Murphy’s Law can suck it
Posted in life on 08/28/2009 02:03 pm by sushiWhat is up, the internets? My week has been busy, as usual. I’ve been spending my evenings tidying the guest room (so my brother can actually find the bed when he comes to visit) and the apartment as much as possible. To add to my distress my brand new less than two weeks old monitor decided to stop powering on. I exchanged it over lunch on Wednesday relatively painlessly, but still! Things have been crazy enough. These kinds of things are not necessary!
Wednesday evening Dane went with me to see Wicked. We had a bit of a scheduling snafu beforehand: I underestimated the amount of time dinner would take and Dane didn’t print out the directions to the concert hall, which resulted in us getting there late. To make the whole thing even more stressful our seats were in the middle of the row, which meant we got to piss off about half the row on the way to our seats. Add to that me managing to stumble and land in someone’s lap at one point (hey, I was wearing stilettos and there’s about a foot of room to get by!) and you are pretty much guaranteed an awful night. Yet somehow after a few minutes I managed to calm down and really enjoy myself despite the mishaps. So I’d say that’s a pretty solid recommendation for you.
Now there’s one more week to go before Dragon*Con. (Technically it’s 6 days since we’ll be leaving on Thursday, but you get the point.) I really, really tried this year to get all my shit together early so the last week wouldn’t be a scramble, and it STILL didn’t quite work out. It is somewhat better that normal, though, as at least I have most of what I need already and just need to make the time to sew it all up. So! This weekend I will be sewing, dyeing feathers, and checking out the local costume shops for some last minute accessories.
