the holiday rundown

I don’t know about you guys, but I had an AWESOME holiday this year. Did some errands over the weekend, but spent the 24th at home relaxing and baking at home. Dane and I made a delicious Brunswick stew in the crockpot for dinner and opened presents after eating. Our families sent lots of lovely cooking appliances and utensils. (I’m sure that doesn’t appeal to everyone, but we both like to cook so it was pretty exciting to us.) Dane’s present to me was a complete surprise: a 360 Pro and a pile of games. We were talking about getting one sometime after the holiday madness at the stores died down, so I was not expecting to see it on Christmas. It also explains why he was so excited for me to open my present. So, we spent the rest of Christmas Eve and most of Christmas Day playing Beautiful Katamari, Half-Life 2, and Portal. We had friends over in the afternoon for feasting and merry-making. Dane and I made a ham and they made the best mashed potatoes and apple pie that I have ever had. Later I got my butt kicked in Settlers of Catan, but consoled myself by winning a round of Ninja Burger in record time.

I am somewhat chagrined that I am back at work today. The 360 calls to me.
