I don’t really have a good excuse, other than I can’t really ever think of anything good to post. I should probably get over it, since I doubt anyone is here for really thought provoking stuff. Also, I haven’t put up any pictures or anything lately because I’m sort of toying with the idea of moving to flickr. I haven’t been really fond of Gallery since I upgraded it to version 2. I realize I could try to hack it a bit, but I’ve been completely uninterested in doing so. Besides, maybe having flickr would encourage me to use the cameraphone, and I can stop carrying around my digital camera everywhere I go on the off chance I see something cool.
Dane’s parents visited this weekend, so we finally visited the capitol building. Odd, since it’s probably the biggest tourist attraction in the city and we haven’t been in the six months we’ve been living here. We also ate a lot. Austin has some damn good food, yo. I felt like my belly was going to asplode the entire weekend.

I think that’s how it goes… you rarely see the tourist attractions in the town you live in, but go see touristy stuff elsewhere. I’ve never been to the capitol building and I’ve lived in Texas for over 18 of my (almost) 23 years. Granted, I’ve only lived in Austin for 6 months of that time, but I lived 2 hrs away (Waco) for 12 years and 45 minutes away (San Marcos) for another 2… lol.
And yes, Austin does have very good food.

what’s wrong with carrying a camera around? i do it all day almost every day – and i bet my camera weighs more than yours does…
you should definitely check out Flickr, though. i’ve been really pleased with it. it’s not too expensive for pro account, either.
