it’s been a long week

I got the best message from Kevin this morning:

Kevin: at worK???
Me: yeah
Kevin: :-0
Kevin: what happened
Me: huh? what do you mean?
Kevin: oh crap
Kevin: today isn’t saturday?
Kevin: shit!
Me: uhm, no
Kevin: better callt eh boss

It makes me feel better than apparently it’s also been a long week for other people as well, because every day has just been dragging for me. At least it’s finally Friday. It looks to be another busy weekend, but I’m going to try and squeeze in some downtime at some point.

My big decision for today is whether to see Doom, Stay, or Waiting.

  1. I hear Stay is not good AT ALL. You could have had my extra pass for it on Tuesday night if I’d known…

Doom and Waiting are neither great, but were both a pretty fun time at the movies. I enjoyed Waiting more. It’s gross and crass, but very funny at times. Looks like crap, technically, though.

  2. Well, I’m all about entertaining movies, even if other people consider them to be bad. I have high hopes that Doom will be bad, but in a good way. I mean, the previews have them doing first-person rocket jumps! How cool is that!

Stay looked like a Sixth Sense clone. I was hoping to catch at least one new horror movie in time for Halloween. I suppose if Stay is bad I’ll at least have Saw 2 to fall back on.

  3. Heh. Saw 2.

Anyway, there were no rocket jumps that I remember in DOOM. In fact, as far as I remember, they left out the rocket launcher (and the plasma rifle) altogether.

  4. You are correct. Apparently what I saw as a rocket jump was merely wishful thinking. Doom was fun, I was only a little sad the monsters were zombies or whatever instead of demons from hell. I suppose it was close enough.

You going to see Saw 2? I loved the first one, so I hope the second one is as weird and disconcerting.

  5. All my friends said Saw sucked. I avoided it. I don’t watch many horror movies. Don’t plan to take in the sequel…especially not when I still have to see Wallace & Gromit.

  6. Well, the acting wasn’t the best ever, but I thought it was really creepy.
